Types of confetti cannons
Paper confetti cannons
Tissue paper slips and shapes in single colours and multicolour mixes. Paper is the all rounder: fine indoors, fine outdoors, and the lightweight tissue breaks down over time outside. Great for weddings, birthdays and graduations. Shop paper confetti cannons.
Eco confetti cannons
Filled with rice paper confetti that dissolves on contact with water. Eco is made for outdoor events: gardens, parks, beaches and ceremonies where the venue asks for biodegradable confetti. You can use eco indoors, but it is not our first pick there. In a humid room or on a damp surface it can stick, flake apart and be harder to clean. For indoor events choose paper or metallic. Metallic confetti cannons

Holi powder cannons
Instead of confetti, these fire a cloud of coloured holi powder made from cornflour and food grade dye. Perfect for gender reveals, colour runs and festival moments. How many confetti cannons do I need?
For a wedding, we recommend 6 cannons shared between guests on both sides of the aisle. If it is just the stage or a single moment, such as the first kiss or first dance, 2 to 4 is plenty. How to fire a confetti cannon

What is a confetti cannon?
A confetti cannon is a single use cardboard tube, 45cm long and 5cm wide, filled with confetti, streamers or holi powder. Twist the base and it fires the contents 6 to 10 metres into the air. No batteries, no electricity and no flame.
Are confetti cannons safe?
Yes, when used as directed. They are not fireworks and there is no flame. Our cannons use a small CO2 cartridge: twisting the base fractures a small ceramic piece inside, which releases the CO2 and pushes the contents out the end. Our standard paper confetti is flame retardant, but eco rice paper confetti is not, and holi powder is made from cornflour, which can catch fire like flour dust, so keep eco and holi powder cannons well away from candles, sparklers and open flames. Always point the cannon up and away from people, never at faces, and supervise children. Holi powder and smoke cannons are for outdoor use only.
Can I take confetti cannons on a plane?
Not in your carry on bag. Each cannon contains a small CO2 cartridge that is classed as dangerous goods (class 2.2). Airlines have their own rules for checked luggage, so check with your airline before you fly, or have the cannons delivered straight to your venue. Read our full guide.

It depends on the fill. Eco rice paper dissolves in water. Paper tissue breaks down over time outdoors. Holi powder is made from cornflour and is biodegradable. Metallic is not biodegradable, which is why it is for indoor use only.

Yes, with paper or metallic confetti. Eco rice paper can be used indoors but it is not ideal, because moisture or humidity can make it stick and flake apart. Never fire holi powder or smoke indoors.
